Welcome to Security Lance. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Security Lance website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Security Lance
Security Lance is an online marketplace that connects individuals and businesses seeking security-related services or products with independent service providers, security companies, and other qualified sellers. Security Lance facilitates connections and, for certain transactions, payment processing, but is not a party to the agreement between buyers and sellers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use the Platform.
By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to notify Security Lance immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Service Providers
Service providers are responsible for:
Providing accurate business and profile information.
Maintaining any licenses, registrations, permits, certifications, insurance, or qualifications required by applicable law.
Delivering services professionally and in accordance with applicable laws.
Responding truthfully to buyer inquiries.
Keeping pricing and service descriptions accurate.
Security Lance may request supporting documentation during registration or at any time thereafter.
Approval to join the Platform does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of qualifications.
5. Buyers
Buyers are responsible for:
Providing accurate request information.
Reviewing service details before purchasing.
Paying agreed amounts when placing orders through the Platform.
Communicating respectfully with providers.
6. Marketplace Role
Security Lance provides a technology platform that allows buyers and sellers to connect.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
Security Lance is not the employer of any service provider.
Security Lance does not supervise or control how services are performed.
Security Lance does not guarantee the quality, legality, safety, or suitability of services or products offered by third parties.
Buyers are encouraged to exercise reasonable judgment before engaging a provider.
7. Payments
Depending on the seller's selected payment option for a particular request:
Payment Through Security Lance
When payment is processed through the Platform:
Buyers pay using supported payment methods.
Applicable platform transaction fees may apply.
Seller payouts are processed according to the applicable payout schedule.
Payment processing is provided through third-party payment processors.
Direct Payment
Some providers may choose to receive payment directly from buyers for specific requests.
In such cases:
Security Lance does not process the payment.
Buyers and providers are responsible for completing payment directly.
Security Lance is not responsible for disputes relating to direct payments.
8. Lead Fees
For requests where a provider chooses to receive payment directly from the buyer, Security Lance may charge the provider a lead fee before providing access to the buyer's contact information.
Lead fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by Security Lance.
9. Products
Sellers offering physical products are responsible for:
Product quality
Compliance with applicable laws
Accurate descriptions
Shipping and fulfillment
Any required warnings or instructions
Security Lance is not the manufacturer of products sold by third parties.
10. User Content
Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant Security Lance a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and use such content for operating, promoting, and improving the Platform.
Users may not upload content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, infringing, or harmful.
11. Prohibited Activities
Users may not:
Violate applicable laws.
Misrepresent their identity or qualifications.
Circumvent Platform fees.
Upload malicious software.
Interfere with Platform operations.
Use the Platform for fraudulent or illegal purposes.
Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
Security Lance reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts engaged in prohibited conduct.
12. Verification
Security Lance may request documentation to help verify a provider's identity, qualifications, licenses, registrations, or other information.
Verification does not constitute certification or endorsement by Security Lance.
13. Reviews and Ratings
Users may leave reviews based on genuine experiences.
Security Lance reserves the right to remove reviews that violate Platform policies, including fraudulent, abusive, or defamatory content.
14. Intellectual Property
The Security Lance name, logo, trademarks, website design, and Platform content are owned by Security Lance or its licensors and may not be used without permission.
15. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with third-party providers, including payment processors, mapping services, messaging services, and authentication providers.
Security Lance is not responsible for the availability or practices of third-party services.
17. Disclaimer
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Security Lance disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, and non-infringement.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Security Lance shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Platform.
Security Lance's total liability shall not exceed the greater of:
the fees paid by you to Security Lance during the preceding twelve (12) months; or
USD $100.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Security Lance, its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, and agents from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your services or products, or your violation of these Terms.
20. Suspension and Termination
Security Lance may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in activity that may harm the Platform or its users.
Users may close their accounts at any time, subject to any outstanding obligations.
21. Changes to the Platform
Security Lance may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without prior notice.
22. Changes to These Terms
Security Lance may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
23. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
